No question is stupid if you want an answer :)
Well, I use Kaffeine to record Cable Television. Kaffeine (at least in my use)
requires the GUI.
I never looked if there is a possibility to run such a task from the command
line but this would require setting the right channel and recording time and
this is damn easier from the GUI.
Besides, I started with GEM on the Amstrad PC 1512 and while I appreciate the
command line I'm sort of a GUI addict :)
