Not submit a patch.
I assume you care about the stable branch v3.5.13-sru? Because if you cared about development branch (nightly-builds), then you instead of the patch uses the current git tree.
To use the patch on stable branch may be necessary to backport patch. But it can be a bit challenging.
Please, can you be more specific?
