What does your .trinity/share/config/tdeprintrc say?
What does your /etc/cups/printers.conf say, after you have configured a remote ipp
printer? This is what my printer looks like:

Without avahi you have to install the printers
using the CUPS webinterface
on localhost:631 as remote printers (ipp protocol).

I tried that, but it did not work. Cups installs the printer but any print
ends with an error (printer not available)...
