I recently did a live-boot of it on a 1gb
netbook and it seemed inordinately sluggish while other live distros
were sprightlier. probably could be configured to better effect but I
didn't bother.
"Live" distros are an art all their own. For this reason, I only use the
original, Knoppix, when I need a live Linux.
For normal installations, openSUSE with KDE3 have always worked best for me.
Now with System V init having been replaced or set for replacement, my
distaste for Debian clumping of everything into only two runlevels may
disappear, which in turn might lead me to a new preference.
