Selecting the location bar doesn't appear as a seperate shortcut, no (the
workaround I suggested above sort-of works, but requires an extra mouse
click). I would suggest filing a bug report asking for the additional
shortcut
setting.

to Shortcuts -> Select All to get the GTK+ behaviour. I'm not sure if
that will carry
over to file dialogues, but it might.
(I'm basing the above on KDE 3.5, but it doesn't seem to me like
something that
Trinity would change . . .)
