I think that this arises from the KDE project's decision to abandon desktop
development in favor of writing a video game. It's called "Configure KDE,"
and it's quite good -- some paths can take hundreds of hours to finish.

That's the main reason I jumped ship. The KDE folks seem to have forgotten that some
of
their (former) users use(d) KDE to do actual work.
