"save" is name of the function that start the screensaver. You don't forget
that the original purpose was "saving" the screen, so the author probably
chose "save" as the name of the screensaver initialization function.

the default shortcut for start screensaver is Ctrl+Alt+S, for lock
screen Ctrl+Alt+L. You can also use dcop calls:
dcop kdesktop KScreensaverIface save
dcop kdesktop KScreensaverIface lock
