Judging from the contents of the unity-gentoo overlay, it requires a
patched glib, xorg-server, gtk+, assorted qt bits, and $DEITY knows
what else. So Unity can be installed on other distros with some work,
since someone has evidently done it, but it seems like a lot of effort
for little benefit for anyone not absolutely in love with it.
