Can someone give me a clue what this means and how to

TDE's error messages are VERY unhelpful when trying to fix something. At
least tell me where to look to fix whats broke!

It actually means that you are trying to open a file without a program
associated with this file (mime) type.
The file types can be configured in the TCC (Trinity Control Center)
Under Components >> File Associations (or whatever it is called in English)
In fact many users prefer the rather complex configuration system of TDE,
because it gives you a lot of flexibility. It seems there are two basic
types of users. The one, that would rather install again (or create a new
user) and start up clean. This type finds configuring those details boring.
The other type invests time to configure the system and wants to keep it as
long as possible (in my case ~20y). I think it is the best advantage to
configure once and never touch it again.
