From those who don't know how to do a minimal base install sure, but not from everybody. There's no need to install Mate or KDE or any other DE before adding TDE. Minimal installation with no X or DE, then adding, TDE has been normal procedure here since I learned of TDE.
Okay, okay. Maybe not props from "everybody"; but he has shared his knowledge with us, showed us another possible way to do things.
For myself, doing a minimal installation would be okay, if I had another system on which to experiment. But all in good time.
