KNetworkManager not working in Wheezy?

I just upgraded my Debian to Wheezy and I am surprised to see that KNetworkManager can't be installed. I recall reading something about it in the past on this list and I also remember that R14 is supposed to have a solution for this. I looked throughthe list archives, but couldn't find a solutions. So three questions: 1. What applet can I use for managing network connections? 2. Should I give up on network-manager altogether? 3. What is the reason for this situation (yes, I am interested in developer's perspective)? Janek
