Thank you for responses. I am using wicd at the moment and it seems to work.
- Hold the network-manager-kde-trinity and network-manager from Squeeze
I wouldn't mind that. The question is if I can go back to old network-manager once I upgraded to the new one?
- Use a different application - for example nm-applet
I would love to use nm-applet, but for some reason the icon does not show properly in the taskbar - see the attached screenshot (which I hope will make it to the list). Should I report this as a trinity bug?
The nm-applet bug is not a TDE problem. Some gnome tray apps from that time period have a problem with reading the tray icon size.
