I switched from using
Windows to Linux some 15 years ago. Amarok was the single primary reason for
this move. I was a student spending most of my day luistening to music and no Windows
(nor
Linux!) application even came close to offering the features that Amarok had. 15 years

no longer work due to bitrot (e.g. fetching album covers from Amazon or lyrics from

Dears,
Reading old mails today!
Just to add that I am also using Amarok 1.4.x since 2006 maybe.
I never found a better replacement, including Amarok 2.x.
Actually, I am using TDE repos mainly for Amarok as well as for a few
programs I felt in love with (kpdf, kuickshow, ksnapshot, konqueror,
kolourpaint, kcolorchooser).
I really hope Amarok will not be dropped from TDE in the 20+ forthcoming
years! (At that point, I might get retired, still listening to music a
lot, and then consider to contribute to maintain it!)
