Best workaround for 3.5.13.x would be to install nm-applet. As Slavek
mentioned, native NetworkManager 0.9+ support has been written and is
currently in testing for R14.0.0.

there must be a way, but I can't find it.
Desktops or laptops? Respectively - is sufficient to setup the network
at
system level or network will configure users (wifi)? The network card is recognized? Look in
/sys/class/net, if there is
eth0,
wlan0 or something like that.
Both eth0 and wlan0 are there.
