This is the first time I have had to deal with a multi monitor
situation, but with recent changes such as TV over the internet I know
it will not be the last.
Another option, if and only if your computer's
video card uses an
nVidia chipset, is to install the manufacturer's proprietary driver
module and configuration utility, which offers extended support. I
don't know if AMD offers an equivalent. Intel almost certainly
doesn't.
The chipset I have in this computer is an Intel. I found out soon
enough that Intel does not.
