what a week. on thursday my corsair hx750 power supply
up and died stone
dead. i do not suppose i can blame it -- the power system here is awful, with
frequent blackouts, generally preceded by a half dozen off-on cycles in quick
succession. i have a biggish UPS between the mains power and the computer,
but still . . .
Open the PS and look inside. Does it have obviously swollen or leaking caps? If
not, are any of the medium to small physically sized (14mm or taller, 8mm or
wider) caps OST brand, any in the 220uF to 3300uF range? If so, it probably
isn't the fault of your electric provider, but the manufacturer of that batch of
Corsairs for choosing low quality components.
