I'll have to look into it further, but no, it wasn't working on any of
the
machines I have access to. Maybe I missed something.

Hi Tim,
Are you sure about that? I looked at the init script and it seems to do
a grep on the kdm config file. When you use the theme selector, it
should override the value causing the grep to fail and not include the
default theme.
