Dumping the cursor at the bottom is an invitation to skip trimming, as is
dumping it at the top. Once upon a time, I was dumping the cursor at the
top. Eventually I realized I was jumping right back to the top to start
trimming, and put it back to top. What might help is putting it at the top,
before anything else, with the words "begin trimming from the top" or some
such.
