Subject: Re: [trinity-users] Bug report in TDE general UI and in K3B
Hello,
It's because K3B's RPM was built without the MAD library, which
allows MP3 decoding.
I see in my build that Lame, Ffmpeg and MAD are all disabled.
I guess it's because of potential licensing issues with audio/video
codec-related libraries ?
I will build the MAD plugin as separate package in the next TDE
version (3.5.13.2), so that user can choose to install it or not.

Thank you Francois!
I'd say that for the PCLOS build, it could be enabled as the default because it's
not the kind of distro that worry much about including this kind of packages (except
libdvdcss2 for dvd playing). I know that some distros go as far as not providing mp3
playing out of the box, but PCLOS doesn't do that as a default. It even includes lots
of non-free packages
(as video, wifi, ... drivers), to make it easier to use for new users. You can also
provide it as a seperate package, if you prefer to give the option to the users, that
perfectly okay for me!
I have a small question for you concerning the next release of TDE. Is it possible to
build KPPP in a way that doesn't need to be a ''root'' user to use it?
Or can I change an attribute somewhere for that?
Thank you for this info!
