Thanks, Tim!
And, to
be clear, going from 3.5.11->3.5.12->3.5.13 will ease me
through all the name changes from *-kde3 to *-trinity?? I don't
want to FUBAR this 'production' workstation -- well, not beyond the
usual few glitches?
Yes, it will ease you through everything. I can't guarantee that
everything will be glitch-free (see other posts on this list
regarding the upgrade process), but this will be the easiest way to
go.
And, I believe the best approach is to:
1. apt-get update/upgrade the system in the current configuration
2. boot to a command line
3. Change the Trinity ppa sources to 3.5.12
4. apt-get update/upgrade to pull in 3.5.12
5. boot into TDE and look around.... then upgrade to 3.5.13
Back in March I was successful in dragging both my desktop and netbook
from lucid+kde3.5.11 to lucid+trinity3.5.13.1. All updates/upgrades
went Just Fine.
Today I dug out a laptop that was loaded with lucid+kde3.5.11 and had
been "gathering dust on the shelf" for about a year. I now have a use
for it. I attempted to upgrade to trinity 3.5.12 (in order to then
upgrade to trinity 3.5.13.1) with the above repositories.
Alas, I got:

Back in March or April Tim had said he would give notice before
removing those repositories, but I either missed it if that was the
case, and/or they are gone for good.
How now to get this laptop from 3.5.11 to 3.5.13.1?
( I did a "test" setup to upgrade directly to 3.5.13.1, but replied
( "No" when asked to proceed after the BIG List of new/updated
-trinity ( modules was presented. So, those repositories will probably
work ( for me _if_ I could get this laptop to 3.5.12... )
Happy New Year!!

Hi Jonesy,
You can use apt sources pointing directly to one of the mirrors:
deb
squeeze main
Or upgrade from 3.5.11 straight to 3.5.13.x.
This would not be a problem.
