I doubt anybody has time to work on it, but you can just open a bug
with the request and it will be handled.

Users can already do this. This simply changes the default config.
i already did. They are worried users will start complaining. Hi,
I don't see any real benefit in adding that space, I find it uglier also.

I use the crystal theme and have no problem with the icons. Or maybe
you are referring to something else?
