but my problem is of different nature, because, when I

konqueror I see it in trieeview.
You'll get that if your view profile was saved when using tree view.
Viewing everthing else in tree (or whatever) view is what we're after.
now following the first post, I
moved tree view on top and I can see it it is definitely on top,
but when I open a new tab and click the home icon it still opens
in icon view or whatever
What does your settings > configure > Home URL link to? What is at the
top of that folders embedding preference list (properties > spanner)?
Is the home link the only place you get an icon view?
