How can I replace KDE 4 on Kubuntu 12.04 installation cd with TDE ?
The easy workaround, tho I am sure that there is a more elegant
solution, is to install Lubuntu (or Ubuntu if oyu have / on a _large_
disk drive) and then install TDE. If you install Kubuntu you will need
to remove all teh KDE4 stuff taht might interfere with TDE.
Or you could install without a desktop, but I don't know whether this is
possible in Ubuntu. It is certainly possible in Debian, and is what I
often do.
I haven't done it for a while but I think that the "alternate" cd allows
you to install ubuntu without a desktop.

Hello all,
Most readers of this list are advanced users, but not all! The
problem could be that Bob does not intend to re-install, because he has no
disk space available or, less surprising, because everything he has
previously installed on his actual system would be lost, all adjustments
preferences. etc, etc… He could be wondering too about his personnal
directory. He wants to abandon KDE4, but did he ever installed / tried /
used Trinity?
Patrick
He talks about the "Kubuntu 12.04 installation cd". Poeple usually use an
installation disk to install, and I therefore took it that he wanted to know
how to install *buntu without installing KDE4.
