Why should it not install? I tested it years ago
on the older Raspberry (I
think it was 2), but it was really slow.

Raspbian TDE does not install on Armbian. Armbian (at least the hardkernel
version I have to use because the odroid requires some special boot magic)
seems to be built on Ubuntu bionic. Raspbian-TDE and Debian-TDE have missing
dependancies. ANd there does not seem to be an armhf build for Ubuntu...
