I had the same problem a while back. I believe I
fixed it by opening
~/.trinity/share/config/tderesources/contact/stdrc
in a text editor and changing "ResourceIsActive=false"
to "ResourceIsActive=true"
You should always do this via the manager (Kontact or Korganizer). This is
only one click for the user.
