Desktop as I did see in the past. What do I miss?
You have most likely multiarch installed. Please post the result of this:
dpkg --print-architecture

Yes I'm afraid it does, at least if you want to continue using Ubunto !
I switched to LinuxOS and used their i386 version, up to upgrading to a HP
8300 64bit i7 machine.
