Don't know why that would be. By default, Konqueror puts them into the Trashcan*,
but
you can add the option of deleting them by opening Settings and in Behaviour, and
enabling "Show 'Delete' context menu..." (with optional confirmation).

*Maybe your Trashcan folder is missing?
