I seem to have been somewhat misunderstood. Sorry. I shouldn't try to make a jokes on an international list. If people didn't understand the reference to Alice in Wonderland, which was the point, I'll leave it there rather than make it worse. I have already caused problems by my attempt to explain it. The joke was the mad-hatters tea party. I wasn't casting aspersions on Kate.

I am not sure if I understood this pretty well. Alice in Wonderland was not among my favorite books as a child and I couldn't catch up with it later. I'm now waiting for our daughter to grow up a bit, so that we can catch up together. I came later to the book when studing fantasy in literature, because I like all that things that could happen in our fantasy - like E.T.A Hoffman or the movie "Cool World". However I do not think anyone here took this seriously, but the thing is , I've read so many "anti-Kate" posts, that one could have the impression first thing to do after install trinity desktop should be to remove Kate :)
I could compare Kedit with Notepad.exe and Kate with Notepad++ in Windows.
It is also not about having more than nothing. It is about having right what you need - and Kate delivers this. This is like the repair shop. You need various tools to do the work ... not only a hammer, however in some cases a hammer is sufficient, in other cases it will not provide the desired quality and efficiency of work.
