Since installing Debian, I've had some issues
printing PDF's, in that
the resulting printout doesn't look exactly like the PDF.
CUPS is in Linux the
most preferred driver for printing.
Have you looked into the settings (PPD) therein?
Second method: install the specific driver from the manufacturer for
your printer.
