I know this is zip help, but I had a similar problem 6
months back,

What is that ^ ? :-)
and a phone call to the airport in question got it
fixed the next
week. Nobody there was aware it had stopped working. I'm using the
weather pluggin for gkrellm, which uses that same data src system, in
this case KCKB. They may not even be aware its not working at your
site.
Wait a minute, yeah, they recently shut down Berlin-Tegel Airport which
I haven't noticed even though I live here. That must be the reason why
NOAA doesn't have any actual weather data of that station anymore.
By the time they switched off the weather station of airport
Berlin-Tempelhof, or NOAA stopped retrieving data off it because
Tempelhof airport had been shut down, no more updates happened. But the
data of 3th July 2009, the latest that were updated, are still
available when kweather points to that station. NOAA still has the
html page with that latest data for Berlin-Tempelhof on their server. I
looked at it by the time. It's just a directory with hundreds of files
with names like "EDDI.html" or, in your case, "KCKB.html".
Still, I get data for Berlin-Tegel shown from 9th Nov 2020, which is the
latest update I got. So then the EDDT.html page for Tegel must still be
there, but isn't updated anymore, I guess.
The problem therefore lies in kweather itself. It only offers a list
with (only) less than 30 airport weather stations across Germany, two
of which are Berlin-Tegel and Berlin-Tempelhof. Both have been shut
down and NOAA doesn't get current weather data for those no more.
Meaning kweather needs to be updated. There is a new airport
Berlin-Schöneberg (BER) which probably has its weather data represented
by NOAA as EDDB.html (not checked). But one can not configure kweather
to use that…
In .trinity/share/config/KWeatherServicerc there's only one entry. I
added "EDDB" manually to try to make kweather show that but it doesn't.
[WEATHERSTATIONS]
stations=EDDB,EDDI,EDDT,EDVE
This entry presumably tells kweather which of the stations out of its
data base to show to choose from but not which to actually use.
Thanks for the hint, Gene.
Kind regards,
Stefan
