I fixed that by going into the Embedded tab and setting the radio button
to "use settings for inode group".

When I right-click on a directory and select
"Open with..." I see a list
of applications, which are mostly file-management related: FileLight,
TDESVN, etc. I want to add VLC to the list, but I can't figure out how
to use File Associations for this; there seems to be no entry for
"folder" or "directory". What am I missing?
