old kdebluetooth code - where can I find it

Hi, I wanted to have a look into the source code, but I'm not sure where I can find it. I found the list of the files from etch kdebluetooth Can you help a bit please? I am sure I have used it in Suse as well. perhaps some few things can be reused and put together to enable bluetooth in TDE. regards

kwrite/kate - help - find/replace - no documentation on "Placeholders"

All, The help documentation for kde3/trinity does not include information on the katepart find/replace dialog "Placeholders" text entry box, checkbox or button. Searching, I found where it was later added in KDE4. https://docs.kde.org/trunk4/en/kde-runtime/fundamentals/find.html A somewhat expanded version of that help is included below. I opened a eature request http://bugs.pearsoncomputing.net/show_bug.cgi?id=2558 (dunno if Darrell is still the help Maestro, so it is there for anyone to patch/submit - I don't have a current clone of the repo or I'd do it.): Replacement Text Here you may enter the text to replace the text or expression entered in the "Text to find:" entry combobox. You can reuse all or part of the "Text to find:" text or expression in the "Replacement text" by selecting the "Use placeholders" checkbox. Placeholders, also known as 'backreferences', are a special character sequence that will be replaced with all or part of the original text or expression. They offer a short-cut to entering a full "Replacement text" expression. For instance, by default "\0" represents the complete 'pattern space' matched as a result of the text or expression entered in the "Text to find:" box. (a backreference to the entire matched string). You may insert placeholders into the "Replacement text" box by clicking the "Insert Placeholder" button, then selecting an option from the menu like 'Complete Match'. For example, if you are searching for "message", and you want to replace it with messages insert the Complete Match placeholder and add and "s". The replace field will then contain "\0s". If Kate is installed, you can learn more about placeholders in the 'Regular Expressions' appendix of its documentation. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.

TDEPIM status and possibility to extend it to support syncevolution

Hi all, as many of you may have followed the discussion in the user list regarding a syncing with mobile phone and other mobile devices, I would like to open a discussion on that subject as it looks like we have a base (TDEPIM) but no decent way to answer the recent developments in the mobile scene. Is someone here willing to help round up a plan what needs to be done to cover the aspects in the context of TDE and TDEPIM. I'm sure all of us use some kind of mobile devices that can be synced with each other - and it would be a great great idea to have it in TDE. Unfortunately I dropped any work perhaps in 2010 and did not follow up the further development of akonadi. I still follow the syncevolution. Opensync works great except the syncML protocol, which turned out to be crucial in terms of mobile devices. I don't know what tablets use and especially the Jolla one I would like to buy. I also don't know what are the plans in TDE. I recall I read somewhere that there is a plan to make use of the newest Qt and KDE4/5 libraries. I would appreciate any help drafting the steps to bring us to a working solution as it looks like TDE is indeed realy good and useful to all of us. I can speak of myself only and I use it private and for business with a great success. Thank you in advance

GIT Problems - Cloning TDE Source

Hi Guys, Firstly, my apologies to Tim, Slavek, Michele and Francois as I sent them a direct email regarding this problem because I thought the mailing list was down but in fact, it was my mail server blocking list messages because the Reverse DNS check failed for 'mail.pearsoncomputing.net'. So, to my problem (Apologies again, if this gets duplicated); I've been trying to clone the source repo for the last few days, using 'git clone' as per the wiki, but it keeps failing with various disconnection errors. The repo is painfully slow (worse than watching paint dry) which probably isn't helping. My connection here seems fine. I got 1.5G of data at one point before it failed but as far as I know, there is no way to restart from a 'git pull' failure. My latest attempt has been running for 9 hours and I've got 107M of data at less than 10KiB/s. Is the source available from anywhere else other than 'scm.trinitydesktop.org/scm/git/tde' or has anybody any ideas on how best to proceed? Is this due to the size of the repo and http(s)? Long-standing TDE (KDE3 too) bug: KDesktop bug on slower PCs

Hi, (I'm writing it here because Bugzilla is curently unavailable for me) Ever since the KDE 3.5.10 era, when launching TDE on slower computers (such as P4, or a Raspberry Pi), whenever the TDE startup time is slightly longer than usual, I get to following message after the splash disappear: Error - KDesktop The process for the file protocol died unexpectedly. and I'm stuck with no icons on the desktop, but the rest of TDE works as usual. I am almost sure that it is just a timeout who generates the alarm too soon, but it might also be a ''real'' bug. But, what could be interesting could be to do as in KDE 4 or Plasma 5; to relaunch automatically the crashed component. Have a great day! -Alexandre

New startup splash screen for TDE: Architecture

Hi, I made a new splash screen for TDE, and I wonder if it could be added to the list of available splash screens. I named it Architecture, and it is not designed to be everyone's taste, because it looks more like what is available for KDE Plasma 5. System requirement: -Widescreen monitor (will work on classic monitor, but may look distorded) -TDE R14.0.2 or newer -You may use File-Roller to extract it Have a great day! -Alexandre

Release plans for TDE are probably to rethink

Hi, I think that the release plans for TDE are probably to rethink, or to do in another way. As an example, most projects have their users use the stable releases, but in TDE, as R14.0.0 was not 100% up to what users expect, many of those switched up to Slavek's preliminary stable builds. This is not bad in itself to use unstable versions for testing purposes, but I do not think that it is the best idea to use it on a production system. Also, as it is the case now, R14.0.2 is not said to be released, but you can see users complaining (with reasons) that it is very slow to update to R14.0.2., mostly because mirrors are not yet in sync with the main server. I don't know enough about how software repos work, but I think that the new release should be blocked for a moment and then be available to users only when everything is ready and in sync on mirrors. This would allow: 1. A more consistent release plan 2.Stop having to deal with users saying that they get kind-of error 404, or ultra slow download speed 3.Reduce Tim's bandwidth costs and load on its servers What do you think? Where to define kmail editor shortcuts?

Hi all! After deaktivating KHotKeys daemon, the keybord shortcuts configured in kate work almost everywhere. "Almost", because kmail ignores the custom defined shortcuts: These two are accepted by kmail (defined in .trinity/share/config/kdeglobals): "Undo" -> <Ctrl>+Z "Redo" -> <Shift>+<Ctrl>+Z This one is ignored by kmail (defined in .trinity/share/config/katerc and .trinity/share/config/kwriterc): "delete line" -> <Ctrl>+Y Kmail uses the "extended editor component" - I think it's the same as kate and kwrite use. Funny thing is, the "default" settings are accepted, that is kmail accepts these: "split line" -> <Ctrl>+Y "delete line" -> <Ctrl>+K Any ideas?
