Was this added in Trinity 3.5.11/12?
Otherwise I'm confused why this does not happen in KDE.
If this is a Trinity mod then I'll submit a bug report to
add a config option to restore the original behavior.
The shadow is present to improve
legibility with the transparent panel.
My suggestion would be to add a separate radio button
configuration option
to control the shadow with options
enable/disable/auto.
