Patches are already applied when the sources are copied from git to build folder. The 'series' file is deleted to allow local builds to be done several times, otherwise you would have errors when the code was trying to apply the same patches.

Ok, that makes sense. What about the extra `cd -` that I added? Is there a reason not to return to the previous directory that contains the .git information?

Let me test on a VM in coming days/weekend, using r14.1.x branch. I will feedback and if necessary I will fix the scripts.
