kdm_greet overheat

Does anyone have a foolproof way of preventing kdm_greet using 100% CPU in version 4:3.5.13-0debian9+r1261450+pr19~squeeze ? We have: # grep -i sak /etc/trinity/kdm/kdmrc UseSAK=false but still we see 100% CPU usage on some (but not all) laptops after power up before login. Laptops are running 30°C hotter with kdm_greet running 100%, resulting in occasional failures. TIA, --Mike Bird

Sorry, my problem is not the wireless connection, but the mobile connection. I can't activate a mobile USB key on my GPRS or UMTS network, because : 1) nm-applet does not start 2) umtsmon starts, but seems not able to setup the ppp connection (I don't know why) Instead, from kde 4 session, all is working, both umtsmon and nm-applet, but - again - I can't tell the difference. As a consequence, I have to stick to Plasma (which I don't like) If I want to go to the umts net. Tinity KDE 3.5.13 RPMS for 2011.0

This has been a long time coming, but I've finally managed to get the first set of packages Trinity KDE 3.5.13 packages built for Mandriva 2011.0. You'll find the packages the installation instructions on : http://www.autotrain.org/mdv-kde/mdv2011.0.html The initial build is for 64bit (x86_64) systems only, mainly because I recently upgraded. 32bit packages will follow when I have time to sort them out, but no promises exactly when. The above build isn't complete, and there are some problems, so please read the notes. I will be adding packages as time goes so check periodically for updates. In particular please pay attention to the change in the config directory from .kde3 to .trinity. When I have some time I upload the SPEC files and patches into the relevant part of git. Hi.Here is my problem :on Kubuntu Oneiric, I can't run nm-appletbecause I get a conflict between GTK+2 and GTK+3.As a consequence I cannot activate any mobile connectionfrom Trinity. Is there a way to get nm-applet working, or touse a different application for the same purpose ?ThanksD.

For month I was not able to use * lazarus-ide * dropbox * calibre as a normal user. The only work-arround was using 'sudo NAMEOFAPPLICATION'. You saved my live! I've googled a lot to know what could be the culprit without success. Uninstalling kgtk-qt3-trinity brought all back to normal. What a big step forward! kgtk-qt3-trinity should not be installed by default. Or there should be a big warning on the www.trinitydesktop.org page! Thanks a lot from a now more happy TDE user Gerhard
