Hello,
I'm using the installed "live" TDE Ubuntu v12.04.
I would like to use Firefox as my default browser but there doesn't seem to be
a way of implementing this in <Control Centre>.
Can anyone help please?

Using TDE
For testing purposes I multi boot 9 OS's, all but one with Trinity DE.
I've tested 3 or 4 nightly build CDs and a couple of regular Ubuntu builds,
as well as Exe 3.3 and 4.1 and a bunch of apt installs on other Debians
and Ubuntus. Have had about 15 different Trinity installations total. Even
buggier versions were fast, stable and reliable on ancient hardware.
This 3/22/2014 nightly is close to being a really good turn-key distro
straight out of the box. I only had two major problems that are easily solved:
[1] The gtk-qt-trinity theme engine still causes a serious Firefox crash.
I normally just remove it because the feature isn't really necessary.
It's more stable in Mint 15 installations which also have either Mate
or Xfce.
[2] Pulseaudio was not installed. Sound initially worked without it but
then failed. Installed pulseaudio and then ran 'alsa force-reload' and
now sound + video seem to be reliable.
And two minor bugs:
[3] Control center menu should always be visible by default, but have
recently become hidden by default.
[4] Odd mis-rendering of Synaptic and Transmission widgets under
Trinity. None of the core functions are affected, just looks funny.
Occurs with or without Mate or Xfce installed alongside Trinity.
Hi Guys,
For some really weird reason my Emails are not shown in any of the lists
that I post to. I seem to receive all posts except my own, which
suggests that no one else see's them either. I've Emailed Tim directly
and he answered a couple of them. I normally post
from "baron(a)linuxmaniac.net" which I have registered in all lists.
I've re-registered as Tim suggested. This address, the one used for
this post, I don't normally use, and is not registered, but since
Alexandre replied to my "Error message" post (Thanks Alexandre) I
still don't see either of my/the original posts.
I don't know which posts other people see and I don't know if I am
getting all the posts.
:-( miffed :-(

Status update: We have *just* today received sufficient funds to cover the
new equipment! We have collected a grand total of $1566 as of this
writing, which is 104% of the original goal. Nightly builds for all
distributions should be restarted in the next week or two.
Thank you again to all who have donated! The TDE project would not be
possible without your generous support.
Tim
Tim,
what is the status of that broken chiller? If the donation have not been enough to cover for its replacement, do you think it would be possible to get it repaired instead?
Personally I don't need that chiller since I build on my own computer, but sure there are a lot of users/testers out there that have been relying on the nightly builds so far and would or could be affected by the lack of them if they don't use Wheezy or Trusty.
Just wondering.
Cheers
Michele

Here is a screenshot of the new version posted by Alex.
Alex, referring to E.'s comment, I think the 7 icons on the bottom should be moved slightly to the left of where they are now, so to get them centered in the picture. Can you have another look at that?
Any other comment s welcome.
cheers
Michele
Dear all,
with the (sooner or later) upcoming v14.0.0 release, the standard KSplash default screen has been updated to a more modern look, thanks to Alex Couture's work.
The original splash screen is still available under the name "TDE-Classic".
Cheers
Michele
