Hi all!
I have a funny problem with a camera: "Casio Exilim", is recognised as a usb storage device, and under TDE <= 14.0.0 the camera was managed by TDEs device manager, i.e. a popup appered "New media found. What do you want to do?", just like any USB stick.
After the update to 14.0.1 things have changed: usb-sticks are still managed as expected, just the camera is not. I can mount it manually (but that's not quite what the user expected).
So, where should I go looking? It's debian jessie, btw.
This is the log, when the camera is plugged in:

Hi Guys,
I've not been around for a week or three and have not been able to
collect my magazines until today.
However in "Electronics Weekly", October 14 - 20 th edition, on the
front page, there is a mention of Trinity DE on the Raspberry Pi
running "Q4OS Linux distribution.
Quote: "Raspberry Pi has a new "Windows lookalike" operating system.
Q4OS is a Linux distribution that uses the Trinity Desktop
Environment, and one of it's most interesting features is that it
looks like and its functionality imitates Windows based operating
systems."
Unfortunately the article does not mention the author of the article.

Hello.
After upgrading to Debian Jessie and TDE 14.0.1, I got problems with
drag and drop between Konqueror and other non-TDE applications. For
example I can't drag into FileZilla to upload file anymore.
Is it a result of some modification, or maybe I forgot to install some
"interoperation" package?

I am working remotely on someone else's computer and am having trouble getting
the key accepted. I have followed these instructions, looked up a few
minutes ago:
<quote>
Packages are signed using GPG key ID A04BE668. To install the GPG key you can
use any public GPG keyserver, for example:
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keys.gnupg.net --recv-key A04BE668
</quote>
I have tried both
<quote>
# apt-key adv --keyserver keys.gnupg.net --recv-key A04BE668
</quote>
and
<quote>
# gpg --keyserver certserver.pgp.com --recv-key A04BE668
</quote>
Both have failed.
"gpg no valid OpenGPG data found"
Help!! I must get this sorted out urgently. I am installing Adept, and I
assume that if she tries to use it, it will complain about insecurity.

Does anyone else have the problem that Digikam 0.9.6 on Trinity R14.0.1
crashes on attempting to select an area in order to crop a .jpg?
(Image - Edit - start selecting area - release mouse button -> crash)
Happens on two machines here.
Full crash report available if necessary...
cheers

Greetings all;
How hard would it be to enable the kmail spell checker to actually save
to disk that which you click on the "add to dictionary" button. All it
can do is save it in memory, but if you then recheck the same msg, you
have to add those same words again.
I don't see a way to add a "personal" file that would enable this.
So is it possible?
Cheers, Gene Heskett

All,
The TDE master server has been repaired and all services should be
functioning normally again.
Thank you to all who donated to help defray the cost of the new CPU!

Hi all,
When reading messages in Kmail sent to me by (2) correspondents using Thunderbird (v38), the FROM and the TO fields of the messages are not correctly represented: the French accents in the sender's real name and in the real names in the recipient list are distorted. For example, René becomes Renc3a9. This is quite annoying when I want to reply to a list with many names with French accents.
This problem does not apply to the body of message, where all accents are ok. I noticed that the problem started on August 30 where i also noticed the two correspondents upgraded to version 38 of Thunderbird for windoze. Earlier messages are ok.
I have been using Kmail on my desktop computer for many years without any problems. It is the current version (1.9.10) supplied by Trinity. I use Ubuntu Precise with Trinity R 14.0.2.
I tried changing character settings in 'appearance' within Kmail preferences in various combinations, with utf-8 and iso-8859-1 to no avail. Is this something that I need to set correctly in Kmail or something wrong with Tbird? My wife can read those same headings fine on her laptop using Tbird.
Any ideas?
Marco

All,
The master server redirection system (ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net)
has been updated to remove an unnecessary client redirection. This means
those of you still using the master server instead of Slavek's redirector
will see faster "apt-get update" execution due to the number of required
DNS lookups dropping by 1/3.
Also, this message is a reminder that the master server will be going down
for maintenance to install the replacement CPU tomorrow. You can follow
along on the Service Alerts page (when available) here:
https://trinitydesktop.org/servicealerts/
Thank you all for your financial assistance and patience!
