Hello.
After being on Ubuntu 14.1 LTS for years, I tried to update to 16.1.
Install media Would. Not. See. workstation's RAID so switched to
CentOS 7 (all my production stuff uses that anyway). Immediately
installed TDE, of course, 14.04 I think.
Two issues with Konsole, possibly related to the video driver (card is
an "AMD FirePro V4900" with their drivers).
First is that it seems to have trouble rendering the _ (underbar)
character. No problem leaving random underbars on the screen as text
advances, but can't seem to put them in the right spot. This is most
noticeable on the last line of a screen full of text.
Second, and much more annoying is that when I start Chrome (not my
primary browser but necessary for some sites), Konsole becomes
very sluggish. Not 2400-baud modem slow, but that was the first
thing I thought of. Maybe more like 9600 ... or 14.4 ...
Ideas?
I do run yum update regularly.

All,
It's that time of year again! As we look toward the release of Debian
Stretch and another version of TDE, I'd like to ask for your continued
support to help keep TDE online.
This year I'm going to try something new. If you donate $40 to TDE [1], I
will allow 2 months access to the nightly build repositories that now
include Debian Stretch and Raspbian Jessie. Additionally, I'd like those
who donate at this level to nominate two bugs that I will personally look
into (excepting those relating to support for Wayland, Qt4/Qt5, or
Webkit). This way your donations have a direct and positive effect on TDE
itself, and TDE can continue to exist in its current form.
Personally I would suggest the LibreOffice integration bug or possibly an
update of the GTK3 theme engine to fix the rendering bugs as potential
candidates, but in the end it's up to you! A full listing of open bugs is
available here:
http://bugs.trinitydesktop.org/buglist.cgi?bug_status=__open__&content=&no_…
As always, thank you for your support and continued feedback -- we
couldn't develop TDE without it!
Tim

Running the latest 14 tde on the latest debian Jessie.
Had a manual backup and in it i had two directories with their names being
##00bla1 and ##00bla2. When i plugged that drive thru a usb port, opening the
partition with conqueror resulted in useless recursive openings of the two
directories, nothing readable. After i opened the same partition with thunar
file manager i was able to see both files starting with ##00, then i was able
to graphically change the names of the directories (in thunar), and, after ##
was removed from the very front of the name directory, the directories became
visible and accessible in conqueror.
should it be this way?

Hello,
when I start kmenu the focus is not in the search field as I remember it having
been since long and as it is in a newly created user account. That is the
behavior I'd like to have to be able to directly utilize the incremental search
feature to jump to a certain menu entry by just typing some characters.
Problem: in my current long time user account every second and following time I
invoke kmenu the focus is _in_ the search field so I have to first push arrow
up or down to get the cursor out of it to directly jump to menu entries by just
typing characters.
I couldn't find any configuration for that.
Any ideas what I could do or try?
Regards,
Stefan

All,
I am pleased to announce the availability of new TDE builds for both
Raspbian Jessie and Debian Stretch! The new builds are available in the
trinity-nightly-builds repository, and should help those requiring a more
up-to-date Debian system continue to use TDE on both low end and higher
spec hardware.
As always, your continuing contributions to TDE are the key to making this
possible. If you make use of the new builds, please consider contributing
to the project at https://trinitydesktop.org/donate.php
Thanks!

I guess this would be essential for increasing Wayland adoption. And when
it comes to Wayland and the TDE, could you create a bug-tracker ticket so
that we can track progress (even if very slow) for TDE's Wayland support,
please?
Hello all,
Toying again with Q4OS. Nice that it brings TDE. Less so that they cropped it.
I've managed to get back most of the stuff, but one eludes me: in Q4OS Orion
1.8.3 I find no eay to access the Window Decorations settings.
Where does kcontrol look for this part of the settings?
Thanks,
Thierry

At last I had enought time to publish a Devuan theme for TDE. It uses the "official" purpry colorscheme and mate icons, includinag a Devuan logo and wallpaper. You can find the details & screenshots here:
