skype and pulse audio

Hi I'm trying to get skype sound to work but apparently the monkeys at MS removed alsa support and replaced it with pulse, which is rubbish. Even though I have pulse enable (pclos - ali's remaster), it still doesn't show up. Is there a fix to re-enable alsa or the like? Kate

Last post ack the list archives was in August 2017, after which the list was silent, and my msgs were apparently routed to /dev/null. But I didn't unsubscribe. My ISP has been known to block/bounce but pearsoncomputing.net was in their "whitelist", I put it there yonks ago. Hi, I made an accout with name "jürgen", password "jürgen" and the home directory is named "jürgen" too (for testing purpose only). Without tdm i.e. from a console I can login without any problems, but TDM-Login says "wrong password" So is it a bug or a feature? Fine regards Rolf

r14-xdg-update error 9

Hi! I am on preliminary stable builds on debian stretch. After the last update i am getting an r14-xdg-update error 9 on login. It complains about permissions and tells to look at r14-xdg-update-validation-test9.txt. There is one line in here <Filename>kde-kchmviewer.desktop</Filename> No such file exist anywhere. kmail sends attachment but deletes message enroute

hi, everybody! i'm using kmail-tde via the protonmail bridge beta for email, and i've encountered a puzzling issue. when i send a message with an attachment, the attachment arrives but the message space is labeled "Empty Message." this is problematic for a number of reasons. of course i first got in touch with the protonmail people, and we went through a few tests -- plain text vs. html and so on -- and no joy. they've pointed out that the only linux client they support, anyway, is thunderbird, so for everything else we're on our own. (i do not like thunderbird and like it even less for its poor support of maildir.) looking in kmail configuration, the lone reference i see for attachments (beside turning on the flag to tell me i used the word "attached" without attaching anything) is some sort of outlook mode, which when checked flings a warning of Very Bad Things if i use it. (fwiw, protonmail bridge does support outlook.) before i check the box, anybody know what's going on with the attachments sending but the messagfs not? btw, they show up just fine in the sent-mail directory. tia. -- dep Sent with ProtonMail Secure Email. Can't get public key from keyserver.quickbuild.io . DNS issue?

Is something wrong with the key server? I can't get the key from the keyserver. Mouse wheel desktop changes

When I accidentaly roll my mouse wheel when the pointer is over the desktop pager, it changes desktop (I suppose it's the intended behaviour). In the pager's option there is a checkbox about changing desktop with the wheel when the pointer is over the desktop background (and it works). Is there a setiing to block this wheel beaviour also on the page? Thierry
