Hi all!
I just ran into this problem: konqueror can open any file with a '#' in it - if the file is not on a dos partition. e.g.: "12345#hallo.txt" on a ext4 opens fine. The same file on a FAT32 does not open - konqeror tries to open a file "12345". "ls" on said FAT32 filesystem shows the correct name "12345#hallo.txt", so I suspect a konqueror problem.
Could somebody please test before I file a bug report?

For your amusement (and to test whether I can actually *post* to the new mailing
lists, since I got the confirm and welcome mails, but other messages have only
been coming from the old list), I offer the following glimpses of what the tweaked
website will look like on smaller devices:
Really narrow screens (such as phones) will see this:
https://i.postimg.cc/m2tsMdWb/tdepage-phone.png
Note the vertical menu at the bottom, and the header has been resized so that
the word "Development" doesn't …
[View More]overflow off the screen to the right.
Screens between 520px and 800px wide (of which I don't expect to find
many—some tablets held in portrait mode, maybe) will get this instead:
https://i.postimg.cc/y6fKkM5Q/tdepage-medium.png
Menu horizontal at the bottom, header larger but still not full-sized.
At 800px, it reverts to the format we all know and . . . love? In any case,
at 800px, the sidebar takes up a little more than 20% of the screen, which
should be acceptable to most.
The resizing trick doesn't work in Konqueror, unfortunately, since it doesn't
support CSS @media queries at the necessary level, but I am going to be
very surprised if anyone manages to get Konqueror onto a phone. The page
does resize itself correctly on the three modern browsers I've tested.

The problem becomes, and naturally so, that TDE may need to become upstream
for the various components of Amarok, or Amarok itself it upsteam support is gone.
There was a lengthy discussion on the openSuSE list about Amarok and
specifically whether a "better alternatives exist.". There were none found
that provided the traditional features or behavior of Amarok, which mitigates
in favor of patching Amarok and continuing to offer it. There were always
shortcomings in the supposed better alternatives that either required hacks or
workarounds, even for behavior as trivial as continual play.
Just another angle to consider. The openSuSE list discussion was within the
past 2-weeks, though I must have deleted that thread.

Hi everyone.
Unfortunately, I was forced to remove my installation of
Trinity/PCLinuxOS this morning, due to Firefox and Thunderbird not
working correctly. Specifically, Firefox was repeatedly asking to be the
default browser, even as I previously selected it as the default. And
Thunderbird, in the middle of all this, would no longer open links at
all, deciding to automatically add a new 'account' relating to news and
feeds.
Both Vivaldi and Chromium were also installed as browsers, but once …
[View More]both
of these were removed, Firefox and Thunderbird continued to exhibit the
same behavior.
Upon installing first Trinity/Ubuntu 20.04.1 and then Lubuntu 20.04 LTS,
I was unable to get HPLIP (as hp-setup) with either OS to communicate
with my HP printer, which was USB-connected.
Final attempt, was to install Debian (10, LXQt). Fortunately, this was
able to detect the printer using hp-setup, however neither hp-systray
nor the HPLIP Toolbox (GUI) will launch.
I am extremely hesitant to install Trinity on top of this Debian
installation, because I am afraid that with Konqueror included as the
default file manager, I will have the same issues with Firefox and
Thunderbird. I suspect that something with PCLOS may have changed,
causing it to detect both Firefox and Konqueror as web browsers, instead
of a web browser and a file manager. I don't know.
I have been fiddling with this for the past seven hours now. I just want
it to work.
Thanks in advance for any advice/suggestions/etc.

Ok as a Big Daddy (PCLOS) user. I have some suggestions.
I don't use the pclos package for FF or TB. I download from Mozilla directly
and use those. Then go to preferences and manually check the default settings
for both.
I use a lot of HP printers. Great printers but they have their eccentricities.
Try leaving the printers on during install. Or starting the HP tools getting
to the printer detection dialog, then turn the printer on, off and on again.
Make sure the USB is a good one.
You can also use system-config-printer, which, IMO, is the best printer setup
tool. The only time is doesn't always seem to work is when it's a HP network
printer.
I hope the above offers you something. However, wait for input from the rest
of the collective.
Be patient.

Hi all,
the twelfth, last, service on the migration list is Etherpad.
-- Migration status --
Etherpad is a service that is located on the previous primary server, so we
will need to decide how to proceed with this service.
Etherpad was actively used only at the beginning of the project - last in
2012. Since then, the uses are very rare and insignificant. Therefore, it
seems that it would be a useless effort to deal with the creation of a new
instance and the migration of content.
-- …
[View More]What needs to be done --
Because the "pads" that are there are more developer notes than data that
would be useful to place on the main TDE wiki, we intended that useful
information from the Etherpad could be placed on the wiki in TGW, which
seems more suitable for developer notes. Data would not be lost, it would
be in one place along with other developer discussions on issues and pull
requests, and the Etherpad could be abandoned.
-- More ideas and suggestions?
What is your opinion on placing data from Etherpad to the wiki in TGW and
leaving Etherpad?
Do you know of any other services that we forgot when preparing the list of
services for migration?
Do you have any other ideas and suggestions?
Cheers

Hi all,
the eleventh service on the migration list is the build service.
-- Migration status --
The previous build service used its own instance of Ubuntu Launchpad - you
know it as QuickBuild. This is operated on the previous primary site, so
it was necessary to deal with the change.
In parallel, a second set of builders is used to build packages for PSB and
PTB repositories. These builders are designed from the beginning to be
completely independent of QuickBuild. This makes it …
[View More]easier to add new
versions of distributions, other architectures and, above all, allows
these builders to run sustainably.
After changing the primary archive, official packages are no longer
published from QuickBuild, but from PSB. This is starting with TDE
R14.0.7. Therefore, QuickBuild is no longer used to build official
packages and there is no need to deal with its migration.
From a technical point of view: The reprepro tool is now used to manage all
APT repositories. Sbuild (with schroot) is used to build binary packages.
The inoticoming tool is used to automate the import of packages (both
source and binary) into reprepro.
-- What needs to be done --
QuickBuild provided build tasks management and a web interface for finding
packages, monitoring build status, and viewing build logs. Such a web
interface is not available for the currently used reprepro + sbuild.
Because Launchpad is too extensive - it provides many services that we
don't need and don't want to use, there is no intention to set up a new
Launchpad instance as a replacement for QuickBuild. Originally I was
hoping that mini-buildd could be a good replacement because it also uses
reprepro + sbuild. But after an initial thorough research and testing, I
found that the mini-buildd is designed with many limitations that make it
unsuitable for us. It is not possible to remove these limitations, as this
would require a fundamental change in the concept of mini-buildd
operation. That's why I stopped further research of mini-buildd.
Since I have not found any other usable existing solution, it seems that we
will need to design and create our own solution here. Although it is not a
high priority now, it is an important step, because the current build
service is completely dependent on me. I already have some ideas, but so
far there was not enough time for me to start making the first components.
-- More ideas and suggestions?
Because the current state of the build service has been working well for a
long time - many years for PSB and PTB, starting with R14.0.7 also for
official packages, I suggest to focus efforts on other migration tasks
first. And leave the build service improvements for later.
Do you have any other ideas and suggestions?
Cheers

Just wondering if anybody else here has encountered this problem, and what to
do about it.
When I play an instrument through kmix, I must enable loopback mixing, but
this creates a hiss in the speakers, which in turn tends to create
feedback -- in particular, when I plug in a hollow-body electric guitar.
This has only been a problem since I upgraded from Devuan Jessie. I used to
play through my computer speakers all the time, using them like a guitar
amplifier. (There is another device,…
[View More] a headphone amplifier, which I use as a
kind of pre-amp.) But otherwise, nothing in my setup has changed, except that
I have upgraded to Devuan Beowulf.
I would like to get rid of that hiss, and I don't remember having to enable
loopback mixing before. I have only recorded a little since upgrading (using
audacity), but it doesn't seem to affect recording quality too much, because
I plug headphones into my computer speakers, which eliminates both hiss &
feedback problems.
Sorry for the detailed presentation; feel free to snip. The main problem is
kmix-trinity, and whether anything has changed between Devuan Jessie and
Beowulf, namely, loopback mixing. Or have I somehow misconfigured it?

Never before had any problems with keepass or keepassx or any of its variants;
not when running TDE or other desktops, not when using it on Android, etc.
But now it crashes every time I try to open it.
I've attached a screenshot which shows the error message.
Does anybody have a clue what is the problem?
