kPDF's 'find' does not allow regular expressions?

When I open kPDF's Find dialog and enter a string, the Regular Expression checkbox and Edit button are always disabled. This looks like a bug to me. Anyone else seeing this? [KPDF -.5.10 (Using Trinity R14.0.9) on OpenSuSE Leap 15.2] Leslie
