Hello all,
In Configure Desktop - Behaviour, one can define what objects appear on the
desktop. There is one catch however:
More machines today use sd or micro-sd cards as mass storage (Raspi is an
example, but my notebooks also do). If I choose to show mounted removable
media, I get my fstab mounted partitions on the desktop, and if I don't want
these, I can't get the dynamicaly mounted USB stick to show.
I doubt there is a way to make a difference between an fstab
mounted "removable media" and a dynamicaly mounted one?

Hi,
I managed to compile tdebase with the described dependencies.
I get konqueror working but I am missing two items.
1st I see in Settings -> Configure Konqueror noting:
2nd when I edit a file and I click here on "Remember" konqueror does not
remember:
Any ideas what is missing? Is there a compile option to activate in CMAKE?
Mit freundlichen Grüßen / kind regards
Alexander Bruns

Hmmm.
My reply to Nik explaining why he was blocked was blocked.
I'm sending this to the list and hoping Slávek will eventually
unblock them both.
Apparently SORBS just now decided to list my mail server
because of a single spam sent on the 7th of May. Unfortunately
my mail logs don't go back that far to see what they're
complaining about or why they just listed it today instead
of back in May.
Hopefully Slávek can trim his RBL tests down to just a
few of the more reliable services.

Hi all!
Don't know why but I'm getting mail bounces from the list:
"
Your mail to 'users(a)trinitydesktop.org' with the subject
Re: [tde-users] Re: Settings missing in Konqueror
Is being held until the list moderator can review it for approval.
The message is being held because:
Header "Yes" matched a header rule
Either the message will get posted to the list, or you will receive
notification of the moderator's decision.
"
Anybody knows why?

Hi all!
I just ran into an interesting problem on rasperrypi: I cannot mount any flashdrive using TDE. udisks2 is installed, my user in group "disk". I get:
"org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.ChildExited: Launch helper exited with unknown return code 127"
Does anybody know what "Launch helper" this refers to and/or what I can do to solve this?

Hi! :-)
I'm using the latest TDE v (14.0.10) on Devuan stable (Beowulf) x64.
Konqueror (file manager) in normal mode, works flawlessly.
My problem is when I'm choosing (from menu or from konsole), to start
it in admin (su, root) mode.
it works, with one exception:
When going to "Storage" (system:/media), it throws a couple of error
messages and displays a blank (empty) page.
These messages are:
1) "The TDE mediamanager is not running.".
and
2) "During the previous startup, KNotify crashed while instantiating
KNotify. Do you want to try again or disable aRts sound output?
If you choose to disable aRts output now, you can re-enable it later
or select an alternate sound player in the System Notifications
control panel.",
with the options: "Try Again" and "Disable aRts output".
There is actually a workaround:
Mount the desired partition with Konqueror in normal mode and then
point Konqueror in admin mode to /media/my_username/ and go to the
already mounted partition.
Any hints?
Am I missing something??? :-)

Hi all,
Since the last TDE stable upgrade (many months ago), the update-notifier
applet is not available anymore.
Is there a good reason to have it removed from TDE or did it fell in a
crack?
It was useful to know if some updates are available in a simple way.
I am missing this small and efficient little applet.
Or is it part of a package I missed?
Thanks for maintaining and enhancing Trinity, the best desktop ever,
Pascal
Ubuntu 18-04 LTS installed from the TDE live dvd image.
Trinity R14.0.10
Apologies. I mistakenly sent this orginally to Midi instead of
to the list.

You could check your /var/log/apt/... which usually goes back a
year to see if you can figure out which package got uninstalled
during the updgrade.
My guess would be package-update-indicator which is from Gnome
but works with other desktops.

Hi all!
I just found that cannot adjust the subpixel hinting in the antialiasing settings (fonts) any more. It's always greyed out :(
Anybody has seen this, too, and maybe any idea what I can do to solve this?

Hi all!
Just in case somebody runs into the same issue:
When you configure TDE so that
- it shuts down the computer when you log out
- should not show the logout dialog
chances are ksmserver segfaults on logout instead of shutting the computer down. If it happens to you check that in .trinity/share/config/ksmserverrc these two enries are set to "false":
[Logout]
doFancyLogout=false
showLogoutStatusDlg=false
