Well, this is weird. I made sure I had every package with Pulseaudio in its name installed. Opened raspi-config and set audio control to Pulseaudio. Now have ITA TV as well as all the other sound I had.
I may be taking away the wrong lesson, but at this point my thought is that Pipewire was the rollicking success Wayland was. Debian is always conservative in all the wrong places.

I proposed four new 'dark' kicker wallpapers:
https://mirror.git.trinitydesktop.org/gitea/TDE/tdebase/issues/491
If approved the files would be installed in
$TDEHOME/share/apps/kicker/wallpapers. If interested then download the
tar file and copy the files there.
I have been using black_flat, black_glass, blue_glass with different
user accounts for more than a year.
Side note: I am not enthusiastic about overall dark themes. They tend to
hurt my old eyes and I never developed a habit of surfing the web under
my bed covers. But I do like a dark panel.
I'm feeling more frustrated than stupid, but I cannot figure out how to
request a new feature (or report a bug).
I have four proposed Kicker wallpapers to submit.
I logged into gitea, in the top left selected the 'Pull Requests' link,
in the left side selected TDE/tdebase.
I see a green New Pull Request button. I select the button and am
greeted with a message, "These branches are equal. There is no need to
create a pull request."
I have no idea or memory what to do next or if I am even on the right track.
Hi Friends!
I have a question:
We might of talked about this before, under a different subject and I just
can't find the email we talked about it in. That should teach me a lesson
that if I have a different question, I should make it a WHOLE new email, that
way I can refer back to it.
But anyways:
Why do we have to compact folders in KMAIL? I never had to do that in
Evolution. Evolution doesn't even have an option for compacting folders.
Doesn't KMAIL and EVO use the same kind of mail storage?
=========================================================
Trying to understand KMAIL + Thanks ahead of time!

It is amazing how on the great, vast internet the amount of material has grown while the amount of useful material has shrunk both as a percentage and as an absolute amount.
This unhappy fact is exacerbated by rise of conversation bureaucrats, not just the usual web cops but an actual bureaucracy of petit tyrants who, by God, are going to rule with an iron fist. (I actually think one of the great selling points of TDE is this list, which is free of such things. Anyone who remembers the KDE forums way back when would probably still shudder.) This makes tasks like searching for answers all the worse because half the time the search results for your exact question end up being moderators and their rumpswabs angry that the question was asked, rather than just answering the damn thing.
I discovered the first day with PiOS that Wayland ain't soup yet. It is theoretically more elegant. So is the ramjet, but if you stick 'em on airplanes now they's gwan to be a whole lot of crashes.
I'm beginning to think the same thing is true of Pipewire. Many applications do not play nicely with it. The translation layer seems a little flaky. It has been years since work was done on Kaffeine, and there wasn't any Pipewire then. VLC seems to grumble about it.
And unlike X11, which was easy to start instead of Wayland, getting rid of Pipewire is a real pain. But it is looking more and more like the culprit. I'm going in -- look after my family if I don't return.

I've got a question:
Why is it when you reboot Q4OS / TDE and log back in,
Why doesn't TDE connect to the internet automatically, like it did in MATE or
like any other DE would?

Thanks,

I'm glad Bill is happy with no TV. I would not be.
To wit: https://ofb.biz/safari/article/1203.html
The Hauppauge TV tuner arrived, and while it was a little fiddly -- and the author of the user guide makes no distinction between important and unimportant -- I got Kaffeine running nicely, with nice, clear pictures, EPG, everything . . . except sound. Not a peep, but an occasional crackle, which is disconcerting.
It seems as if Kaffeine is abandonware, and there is little online about it, so I am on my own unless someone here knows the application, or another app that can stream live local TV via a tuner dongle.
Does anyone?

Does krdc support automatic scaling or provide a way to configure
automatic scaling?
Seems I always have to select the Scale button to see the remote screen.
This is embarrassing. I can't get TDE to start. Downloaded and installed uneventfully. Ran sudo update-alternatives --config-xsession-manager and selected /opt/trinity/bin/starttde from the list. Reboot, no joy.
Per online information, edited /var/lib/AccountsServices/users/<my-user-name> to change XSession=LXDE-pi-x to first tde and when that didn't work TDE. Reboot. Still have LXDE.
I'm clearly missing something. If anyone knows what it is, please tell me. And in any case, once the answer is found I'll write it up and submit it for possible inclusion in the docs.

Which distro provides a full, complete TDE R14.1.2 install? Every single
TDE package. Something that can be downloaded, installed to a VM, and
install some kind of TDE meta package.
Thanks.
