Do you have anything in /opt/trinity/share/dconf/profile/user

Hi, I have TDE 14.1.1 installed on Slackware64 15.0. Firefox keeps spitting out error messages like this: Unable to open /opt/trinity/share/dconf/profile/user: Permission denied: 'glib warning', file /tmp/firefox-128.4.0/toolkit/xre/nsSigHandlers.cpp:187 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1410879 seems to indicate that firefox is looking in /opt/trinity/share/... because /opt/trinity/share is in the XDG_DATA_DIRS environment variable. In my Slackware version of TDE, there is no directory /opt/trinity/share/dconf at all, which (partially) explains why firefox is whining. But it got me wondering... can someone (or multiple people) who use another distro let me know if you have anything in /opt/trinity/share/dconf, and, if so, would you mind sending me a listing of what files are in there? Darkness :) Remaster of devuan testing + TDE + dark theme for AMD64

Trying to install TDE on a (relatively) old Debian (9.13)

Hallo all. I'm re-setting up an old machine (a core 2 quad from 15 xears ago) and wanted to use a somewhat older distribution. I decided for Stretch and managed to find the online repos for older Debians. I then wantes to install trinity (from the website it seems 14.1.1 should be available, I also tried 14.0.0). I followed the instructions for repositories, however when I run install tde-trinity, I get dependency hell Several packages have unmet dependencies, for example Depends : tde-core-trinity (>= 4:14.0.0~) but it is not going to be installed Another weirdness is that aptitude has no installation candidate. I suppose apt or apt-get can be used instead. An idea? Thierry

A strange directory under /var/run/user/1000/

XF86Mail opens the email client if and only if it is mapped to an "Input Action"

If a keyboard shortcut is defined for an "Input Action" (Trinity Control Center -> Regional & Accessibility -> Input Actions) and the triggering key is XF86Mail, then pressing the XF86Mail button opens the email client regardless of what action is assigned to it. If the action is deleted or assigned to a different shortcut, the mail program does not open when pressing XF86Mail. This started happening a few days ago after an apt-get upgrade on Debian. # dpkg -s tde-trinity Version: 4:14.1.3-0debian12.0.0+0 -- Davide

Install failing on AlmaLinux 9.4

Trinity mailing list, I am trying to install Trinity Desktop on a laptop running AlmaLinux 9.4. I installed to trinity-repo package, but I am getting an error message when I try to actually install Trinity. compton-tde does not draw shadows?

Hello, TDE users! I was more or less following TDE by compiling new version using https://github.com/ray-v/tde-slackbuilds/ on Slackware 15.0 i586 with 6.1.44 x64 self-compiled kernel and X11 installed into X11R7 I think it works generally OK but today I tried to add shadows using compton-tde and while I can make moving windows slightly transparent (so compositing itself works) I can't make shadows show up. I tried to put compton.conf I found on github into .config/compton-tde.conf but it apparently does not make a difference? Where default compton-tde.conf usually located? Second question - on xrandr resize (for example switching away from fullscreen mode in old SDL1 version of qemu) TDE likes to maximize by horizontal dimension all my windows! Probably something is misconfigured, but what exactly? Any ideas where to look? I prefer not to nuke my .kde ... (there was KDE3 previously)

how to set environment variable?

I'm sure this is easy, but I haven't been able to find the right place to do it :-( How do I set the value of an environment variable so that when I run a program from the main T menu, the program will automatically get the correct value of the variable? I looked at Trinity Control Centre (which is where I expected to find something labelled "Environment Variables", or something similar) but I don't see anything like that there.
