You know,
I had thought about switching to the IMAP protocol due to being able to
switch to any email client I wanted to without having to constantly
IMPORT and EXPORT my data.
That's really the only PITA part, (pardon my expression) about POP.
It just seems like life would be A LOT less stressful without having to
worry about if I backed my email up
or I decide to try a new email client and I don't have to piece together
archive folders from one client to another etc.
But OTOH, I do enjoy that my data is PRIVATE and that my mail provider
can't pull a *YAHOO MAIL * and be like one day
" Eh, you don't need those emails in your archive folder from 2016 /
2017. * POOF DELETED* without even asking the user if its okay.
I know that, a hosted email provider WON'T DO THAT to someone, since we
pay for the product to keep our valuable emails stored for us.
Then again, look at what happened to poor Rackspace last year. Their
Exchange server got hacked and had to pay ransom to get peoples data
back and people
still lost a lot of their emails that they had in the cloud.
Do ya'll think its worth it?

I use a Lenovo X390, MX-Linux 21.3, with one user using xfce (the "original"
DE) and the other using TDE.
When I plug in HDMI (for a beamer, in this case), xfce can easily be set up to
mirror the display.
When I use TDE and connect the Beamer (seen as HDMI-2), TDE automatically
extends my screen to the beamer. xrandr -- output HDMI-2 --same-as eDP1
(where eDP-1 is the internal screen) does mirror the screen, but it remains
extended.
Now if I run "Configure Displays" and select "Enable local Display control for
this session" (which was not activated), I do get the mirroring I am looking
for. But if I click "Apply" the screen turn to psychedelic colours - seems to
be wating for me to validate the choice, what I can't do and anyway would not
as it's unusable. After a while the sceens returns to my desktop, albeit stil
psychedelic, and I must log out / log in to get my desktop back.
So for the time being that means I have to use xfce when I need the beamer.
Anyone knows what's going on and what I should do to mirror my 1920x1080
screen to the HDMI beamer?

Dear TDE users,
This maybe unrelated to TDE. I wonder whether anybody has experience
installing openSUSE 15.5 (along TDE of course) on a Intel SSD 2 TB. I was
thinking about something like this:

The system is a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop. If anybody has any other
recommendations for a SSD to be used on a similar laptop, please let me
know. Also, is there really any speed advantage to using the corresponding

In KMAIL 1.9 for TDE, why can't I insert an image inside of my email?
There is NO option to insert the image inside of the email. Some people might
not like clicking on attachments and would rather you paste them directly
into the body of the email, but with KMAIL 1.9, I noticed that we can't do
that, the only option we have is to attach them???

I've been trying to use the sea monkey browser and:
At first I couldn't get on Fcaebook. It just kept erroring out. I had to
do this weird work around:
EDIT > PREFERENCES > ADVANCED > HTTP NETWORKING
And select " IDENTIFY AS SEAMONKEY"
Close SM and re launch it, but now, I can't make a status on Facebook,
or even comment on posts!
I tried changing the user agent string, same thing... >:o
The SM Email Client = LOVE IT. 8-)

Hey all,
Long time TDE user, I would like to make a discord to help new users with issues regarding TDE, as well as maybe appealing to users around my age (mid 20s), I am currently in a couple other linux discord servers and they said it was a shame there was no Discord server for TDE. I want to make the solution to that problem, would anyone be against me making one?
