Mailing list etiquette - Important!!

To all: The TDE mailing list is supposed to be a place where we discuss things in a polite and quiet manner. People are free to post their opinion, but please remember to respect others' opinion as well. You may not like what is being discussed in a specific thread, you are free to raise your objections to that but please refrain from denigrating other people's comment or suggestion and respect the time and effort they put in to contribute to this project. I have to say that over the last 12 months or so I have seen an increasingly number of "animated discussions" on this ML and it was not pleasant at all. Especially considering that it was completely unnecessary for them to be "animated" For the records, some of our contributors have already decided to move away because his/her suggestions were continuously denigrated on this ML. How can we expect to have new contributors if we are so negative about whatever thing they bring along?? I repeat: "How can we expect to have new contributors if we are so negative about whatever thing they bring along??" We are a small community, probably we will always be. Let's make sure this community remains a happy community. Please be considerate when you are messaging on this ML. Cheers Michele

TDE R14 theming

Hello team, I would like to try changing the visual style of my TDE. I was looking for some themes in kde looks but i don't know where to puts theme for TDE. Can anybody tell me where to place each part of themes ? Thanks. Nicolas D.

apt-get update Failed to fetch Hash Sum mismatch

Running apt-get update returns the following: ... Fetched 9,539 kB in 1min 17s (123 kB/s) W: Failed to fetch http://mirror.ppa.trinitydesktop.org/trinity/trinity-r14.0.0/debian/dists/j… Hash Sum mismatch W: Failed to fetch http://mirror.ppa.trinitydesktop.org/trinity/trinity-builddeps-r14.0.0/debi… Hash Sum mismatch E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead. The files haven't failed to download and they are the same files I receive when downloading them manually. /var/lib/apt/lists and /var/cache/apt rebuild with the same contents and error. The only thing that seems odd is that the builddeps Package date is 23-Nov-2015.

Preliminary stable builds on the move

Hi everyone, who is currently uses preliminary stable builds repository as you have surely noticed, the final R14.0.3 was released. At this time packages in preliminary stable builds repository and official R14.0.3 are both based on an identical source packages. If you used the preliminary stable builds only temporarily, you can now switch to official packages. This is the best time because here are waiting updates to upload into prelinary stable builds. You have been warned ;) If you are using prelinary stable builds deliberately, you can look forward to that soon will launch the first upload of packages for the new target R14.0.4. KPDF print error

Been printing from KPDF for quite some time,recently I got the following error. I am running Debian Stretch + TDE R 14.0.3, which is testing ..for Debian anyway. This is the error dialog with NO filters, selecting 'keep' actually prints. "The file format application/postscript\012- \012- application/octet-stream is not directly supported by the current print system. You now have 3 options: TDE can attempt to convert this file automatically to a supported format. (Select Convert) You can try to send the file to the printer without any conversion. (Select Keep) You can cancel the printjob. (Select Cancel) Do you want TDE to attempt and convert this file to application/postscript?" This is the error dialog with various filters selected, tried different combo's..same result. "The MIME type application/postscript\012- \012- application/octet-stream is not supported as input of the filter chain (this may happen with non-CUPS spoolers when performing page selection on a non-PostScript file). Do you want TDE to convert the file to a supported format?" I

There are possibly a few things to edit when you move to .trinity (but that will be only once). Mainly, did you edit /.trinity/share/config/kmailrc ? In the last part of the file (after the mailboxes), you have the path to your mail directory. In (very) old time this would have been ~/mail , but somwhere in KDE history it was relocated to a ./kde3 subdirectory, usually $HOME/.kde3/share/apps/kmail/mail. You must change that to $HOME/.trinity/share/apps/kmail/mail As far as I remember that's all I had to do (apart from copyinf the directory). Thierry
