Eclipse and gtk-qt-application crash

Hi all, I'm running trinity oneiric I'm trying to run the Eclipse android sdk, and am getting the same problems others have gotten: pjh@pjh-laptop:~/bin/android-sdks/tools$ android sdk KCrash: crashing... crashRecursionCounter = 2 KCrash: Application Name = gtk-qt-application path = <unknown> pid = 5812 Segmentation fault Eclipse itself runs fine. This is a new installation of eclipse. I've tried uninstalling kgtk-qt3-trinity and rebooting, but that doesn't help. The directory /opt/trinity/lib/kgtk/ is definitely gone, as is libkgtk2.so -- "sudo find /lib /opt /usr -name libkgtk2\* -print" turns up nothing. I would not have a problem with upgrading if that would help. Any suggestions? -- Patricia J. Hawkins

Cannot login using Trinity kdm on openSuSE 12.2

Hi, I installed Trinity in my openSuSE 12.2 on X86_64, using the instructions on your website. With DISPLAYMANAGER="/opt/trinity/bin/kdm" in /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager and DEFAULT_WM="kdm" in /etc/sysconfig/windowmanager, booting the system displays the Trinity login prompt, but when I enter my username and password, the display just blinks and refreshes the password field. I have looked in /var/log/messages, /var/log/warn, /var/log/Xorg.0.log, xdm.errors and kdm.log, but the only suspicious items I see are in kdm.log: QWidget::setMinimumSize: The smallest allowed size is (0,0) QWidget::setMaximumSize: (unnamed/QDialog) Negative sizes (-1,-1) are not possible Feb 8 13:39:24 kdm_greet[28323] error: Can't open default user face QImage::convertDepth: Image is a null image QImage::smoothScale: Image is a null image Perhaps one or more of these is causing the issue? Any suggestions on how to proceed are welcome. Leslie

Have a nice day! -Alexandre Alexandre, I am able to login using xdm fine; it's just TDM that's not working, as far as I can tell. xdm works with twm and icewm, but TDM does not work with either of them, so I'm pretty sure that there's something wrong with the Trinity setup. I suspect that the absence of /etc/trinity probably has something to do with it, but I don't know what is supposed to be in it. Leslie

Just two question about icon positions: .trinity/share/apps/kdesktop/IconPositions: [IconPosition::mypaint.desktop] Xabs=74 Xabs_1024x768=21 Xabs_1280x800=20 Xabs_1920x1200=74 Xabs_800x600=111 Yabs=487 Yabs_1024x768=437 Yabs_1280x800=715 Yabs_1920x1200=487 Yabs_800x600=348 Does this mean, TDE can handle different icon positions according to the current screen resolution? If yes, are the positions in this file used when the resolution changes (xrandr) or only whe TDE starts? Nik

Hello everyone! My PCLinuxOS TDE non-official remaster version 2013, January 15 is ready to download! ***Please note that if you already use the previous version of this remaster, and you have followed the procedures to enable the new PCLOS repos as I said in my message titled ''Important note for PCLOS TDE remaster users'', you already have the new version. PCLOS is a rolling release.*** I call it non-official because it doesn't come from the PCLOS team and since it contains software coming from outside of their repos, it is also not supported by them. It can be seen as a whole as the much-loved PCLOS 2007, but fully updated and upgraded. It is a complete system that can be used as a LiveDVD or it can be installed (from the LiveDVD). Major apps pre-installed (in no special order): -PCLinuxOS 2013 (completely updated) base system with KDE stripped out and replaced by TDE 3.5.13.1 -KFaenza as the default icon theme instead of Oxygen -Most systems libs are completely updated since the last release -Amarok -K3b -Firefox 18 -Dillo -Dolphin -Konqueror -LibreOffice 3.6 -Quanta plus -VirtualBox -SuperKaramba -Synaptic -VLC media player 2.0.6 -Kaffeine -BleachBit -GParted -QtCurve theme -Baghira theme -The GIMP -QCad -Kontact (Note: I couldn't test completely Kmail, but it seems to work. If it is not good enough, Thunderbird is also pre-installed) -Mozilla Thunderbird -Skype -KMyMoney -P7Zip -All PCLinuxOS regular configuration apps (Most admin tasks should be done from the PCLOS Control Center) -Localisation Manager, to translate your system -LibreOffice Manager Login info (on the LiveCD): Regular user:guest Password:guest Super user: root Password:root System requirement: A x86 computer with at least 256mb of RAM. It is a 32bit system, but it can be installed on a 64bit system too. It is available in a 4-parts zip archive. network problem exe gnu/linux

OK, i,m using exe/gnu wheezy version ( which rocks harder than a very hard thing. ). nothing can access the web. synaptic, kmail, konqueror, firefox nothing. ping don't work nothing. network configured with ceni. i've not changed the settings. my connection is through my android phone tethered. now here is where it gets interesting , tor browser works without any problem whatsoever. so i thought it might be my isp ( 3 in the uk ). so i booted into my xubuntu partition with kde 4 and networking works no problem. any help would be very gratefully appreciated. just ask if you need more info. thanks gareth

Important note for those who use PCLinuxOS 2012 non-official TDE remaster

Hello everyone! First of all, I want to thank everyone here who use my PCLinuxOS 20112 non-official TDE remaster. Due to some important changes in the structures of the repositories used by PCLinuxOS, you should check the following link to know what you should do to keep Synaptic (and apt-get) working as it should: http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,87378.msg722604.html#msg7226… This news announcement is also on the main page of the projet: http://www.pclinuxos.org I will also try to do a fully-updated ISO of my remaster in the next weeks. This ISO will replace the present one and will have the changes integrated to the repos already installed. I know that TDE 3.5.13.2 is coming, but it will probably still be based on 3.5.13.1, until the new packages are released and packaged for PCLOS.
