Slavek, I am running 11.10 and have just updated today. I have run into some issues. First of all, kdesktop is crashing whenever I change a setting, and the settings don't stick. They are also not the settings I had before the update. Also my konsole no longer is using its previous settings. Do you have any idea? Calvin

SSL Error on the Trinity web site

Just a heads-up. Clicking "Nightly Builds" on the Trinity web site menu bar results in an SSL Error: "The site's security certificate is not trusted! You attempted to reach quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net, but the server presented a certificate issued by an entity that is not trusted by your computer's operating system. This may mean that the server has generated its own security credentials, which Chromium cannot rely on for identity information, or an attacker may be trying to intercept your communications. You should not proceed, especially if you have never seen this warning before for this site." It's invoked because https is specified for access to the nightly builds; is this necessary? Also, I can't help thinking that an unqualified certificate is worse than useless, so why does it even exist? LeeE

KdeSudo password problem

Hi, I have been using TDE (now 5.13.1) with Kubuntu Oneiric for a year or so. I regularly update with adept_updater. It worked fine until my last update. But now when prompted by adept_updater for my admin privilege password, after 3 tries, I get a KdeSudo Error window saying Wrong Password. But I have not recently changed, removed or added any password. It consists of alphanumeric characters only. This same problem applies when I try to open other kde applications that require administrative powers. I urgently need your help to get my password back. I do not have this problem when I log into TDE at the beginning of a session or kmail, or when I open a superuser console from the regular console. New Debian/Trinity system - first try

Progress so far... 1) I got the new computer running: Linux vega1 3.2.0-2-amd64 #1 SMP Mon Jun 11 17:24:18 UTC 2012 x86_64 GNU/Linux 2) I can run X ( No screen after boot! I needed to edit /etc/modprobe.d/radeon-kms.conf to options radeon modeset=0) 3) I can run LXDE 4) http://www.trinitydesktop.org times out. X cursor

Hi All, I use my laptop at work via X11 forwarding (to my main desktop which is a mac). I usually initiate a ssh session and then run: /opt/trinity/bin/kdeinit -no-kded This starts a kde session without the kded daemon (which launches kicker and kdesktop and so). For some reason however my X cursor isn't set properly, and instead it's the very ugly default one (which drives me insane), instead of the one I set in kcontrol. This only happens on x11 forwarding and not on my local sessions. Anyone have any ideas? Calvin

New Debian/Trinity system

The time has come for a new computer; the old one has the remains of KDE3/4,Gnome and LXDE on it. I want to start with a fresh install of Debian (unstable = wheezy) + Trinity on AMD64. kpowersave and acpi disagree about remaining charge

Hi! I just came across a strange problem on my T60: kpowersave says, 2:45 remaining charge acpi -b says, 2:12 remaining charge the acpi reading is correkt, kpowersave is wrong. What is more anoying, kpowersave "hangs" at 50%, while in reality the charge goes down to 0%. Anyone seen this before? Nik -- Mag.
