Ok Doc,
Try this. See if it's still greyed out as root or another freshly created
user.
Maybe a weird perms problem. See it before. Drives me bloody mad.
Kate
Good afternoon from Spain,
Recently, a friend send me a link to an issue in the Nix packages
repositories on GitHub.
It seems someone proposed to the maintainers to package TDE in Nix.
The link to the issue is https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/108967.

Hi all!
I just found that after my latest updates to 14.0.10 I lost the "Delete" funtionality in konqueror. When I do a right click on at file on a FAT32 usb thumbdrive, then the context menu pops up with the "Delete" entry greyed out. Pressing "<DEL>"-key consequently des not delete the file nor move it to the thrashcan. Pressing "<shift>+<DEL>" deletes the file.
Does somebody else see this, too?

Hello TDE users !
I am testing installing TDE, or separate TDE packages such as
konqueror-trinity, on my chromebook/crostini/linux vm.
Upon the initial install (apt-get install kdesktop-trinity), it is short
a package called libjasper1. I check on my reference linux desktop with
TDE installed and running fine. Sure enough, it has a package called
libjasper1 installed. However, if I try to reinstall it just to get the
package file to use on the chromebook, it is no longer available.
So, either libjasper1 is used in TDE and it is not available anymore
under debian/buster, or the package needed by TDE needs to be obtained
from some other place.
Where do we get libjasper1 now?
Is this a TDE bug ?

Dear Trinitarians,
Decided to move away from Chrome, Brave seems to be working, but Kmail
is opening links in Chrome. So. I know I was using Firefox many years
ago, so I remember changing it once in the past.
I haven't been able to find the setting for "Open URL with....", not
globally, not in Kmail.
Any hints?

obviously I answered n as it didn't look safe for tde.
Can it be safely allowed?
Thanks.

Also PE and NU; and according to Wikipedia, YK is commonly used, but the
official code is YT. (!)
And, Newfoundland (NF) is now Newfoundland and Labrador (NL). This seems to
be up to date now. Note, though, that abbreviations in the nsd_cccc.txt file
might not be as up-to-date as this list: :-)
| New | Old (Eng., Fr) | Name
| ----- | --------------- | ---------------------
| AB | Alta, Alb | Alberta
| BC | B C, C-B | British Columbia
| MB | Man | Manitoba
| NB | N B, N-B | New Brunswick
| NL | Nfld,N L, T-N-L | Newfoundland and Labrador
| NS | N S, N-E | Nova Scotia
| NT | N W T, T N-O | Northwest Territories
| NU | Nvt, Nt | Nunavut
| ON | Ont | Ontario
| PE | P E I, I P E | Prince Edward Island
| QC | Que, Qc, PQ, QU | Quebec
| SK | Sask | Saskatchewan
| YT,YK | Yuk, Yn | Yukon Territory
Many of the entries in nsd_cccc.txt have the province appended to the
location instead of in the State field, but many more have none at all. What
fun!

The problem becomes, and naturally so, that TDE may need to become upstream
for the various components of Amarok, or Amarok itself it upsteam support is gone.
There was a lengthy discussion on the openSuSE list about Amarok and
specifically whether a "better alternatives exist.". There were none found
that provided the traditional features or behavior of Amarok, which mitigates
in favor of patching Amarok and continuing to offer it. There were always
shortcomings in the supposed better alternatives that either required hacks or
workarounds, even for behavior as trivial as continual play.
Just another angle to consider. The openSuSE list discussion was within the
past 2-weeks, though I must have deleted that thread.

Regarding the desktop icon text, is there a setting somewhere for this?
When Thunderbird was added to the desktop, "Thunderbird" was truncated
with the 'rd' appearing on a second line. But when in the Properties, if
the name is changed to 'Thunderbird Mail', the word 'Thunderbird' then
appears entirely on one line. The monitor resolution is 1920x1080.
Screenshots showing both are attached.
Thanks in advance.
