Hi Leslie Turriff via tde-users,
Anyway, once I'm in /usr/local, creating

/usr/local/bin |
/usr/local/lib/icecat/icecat-bin is a file, right?
/usr/local/bin is a directory, right?
Linking a directory upon a file seems no good idea IMHO.

Yeah. I don't know how I came to do that. (?) What I should have done
was
| cd /usr/local/bin
| ln -s ../icecat/icecat icecat
which works just fine.

A simple
symlink from the Icecat directory to /usr/bin will make it globally
usable by all.
